Users were not clamoring for the Vista OS, Microsoft pretty much forced the OEMs to stop shipping XP and switch to Vista. The only one clamoring for Vista was I do not install a software unless I really need it and I never want to install a shareware and seldom install any beta/demo software unless I have to.

My thoughts on Vista
(ms-website gives only a word file "Technology Overview: Microsoft® Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 for Windows® Vista™ and Windows XP SP2" , or i am the still it was impossible to install it because it asked me again and again to verify... (and manually i did verification with success 2-3 times) .. so i gave up.

I finally installed vista from help via online form about vista beta 1. Which involved deleting 2 .sys files.. What amaze me this wasn't fix in final release which is shocking to Kinda makes you wonder: What was broken in XP that needed fixing?
