Which proved a problem because it made uptake noticably slower than that for XP. However, things might have changed now because some awfully clever people managed to crack Vista (apparently). This might have caused a shift in demographics because users are now potentially able to sample the "delights" of Vista

I have done a complete restore of my Vista install but am a little hesitant to install Office 2007 again. Is Office 2003 compatable ? it will start once off the Start Menu then that's it. I have checked the forums and this issue was reported under Office 2007 Beta 2 but never answered by Microsoft.

Too bad you don't have access to the now defunct beta newsgroups (and access to a few choice emails I sent) you might have a different option after hearing I haven't tested this for Windows Vista but on Windows XP I had Word 2.0 - Word 2003 installed and they all ran fine with the exception of minor conflicts

Go to Control Panel 2. Open User Accounts 3. select "Turn User Account Control on or off" 4 Remove the checkmark from the "turn user account control on/off" section 5. UAC is now disabled.
